How to Maintain and Clean Your Inflatable Bounce Houses

Inflatable bounce houses are great for parties, summer fun, or just encouraging the kids to be more active and make the most of every day. However, to extend the life of your bounce house, it's critical to take care of basic maintenance and cleaning. Not only does cleaning help remove the dirt that could otherwise build up over time, but it can also help protect your investment- which means more hours of fun!

HOW TO CLEAN AN INFLATABLE BOUNCE HOUSE

Ideally, you should make cleaning your inflatable bounce house a regular part of its usage. You should clean your bounce house routinely, especially if you leave it set up, and clean whenever a major party or event is scheduled.

1. Remove Large Visible Debris

Whether it's grass stuck to the inside of the bounce house or items that have made their way into the house over time, go ahead and remove those items—either by hand or with a vacuum cleaner—before you start the rest of your cleaning.

2. Take Care of Obvious Stains

Under heavy use or when careless kids bounce without cleaning off first, bounce houses don't take long to collect stains. Face paint from that fun party to dirt stains; it doesn't take long for the bounce house to pick up a few. Scrub them with a mild soap or all-purpose cleaner. A mixture of dish soap and water often works well! A little scrubbing will soon return your bounce house to its usual condition.

3. Disinfect

Any time a party is held where many kids come to play in the bounce house, consider disinfecting it—especially if the kids have been sick or have known skin issues. Spray it with disinfectant or a cleaning wipe to cover all the nooks and crannies.

4. Dry

Allow it time to dry before you remove the bounce house after cleaning. If you put the bounce house away while it's still wet, that moisture has nowhere to go, and you may end up with mold or mildew.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO MAINTAIN AND CLEAN YOUR INFLATABLE BOUNCE HOUSE?

Maintenance and cleaning are important to bounce house ownership for several reasons. It's not just about keeping it photo-worthy, though a clean bounce house will look better on social media! It's also about ensuring that your bounce house stands the test of time.

1. Extend Its Lifespan

Not only does cleaning help protect your bounce house against some types of wear and tear, but as you clean, you'll be more likely to notice other problems—like small holes or pending holes that can be patched quickly.

2. Decrease the Spread of Germs

While you can't completely prevent the spread of germs when kids are playing together, cleaning your bounce house regularly can help reduce the number of germs found in it—and that means keeping kids safe no matter when they play.

3. Remove Grit and Residue

Even when kids remove their shoes before hopping in the bounce house, they can still bring grit, residue, and other ick inside. Regular cleaning helps remove it, protecting both the bounce house and the kids.
